viaGood & the 2030 Agenda - How we can all help to transform our world

“We are determined to take the bold and transformative steps which are urgently needed to shift the world onto a sustainable and resilient path. As we embark on this collective journey, we pledge that no one will be left behind” - Preamble to Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a global action plan holding all people - at the individual, community and governmental levels - accountable for transforming our world. It’s a global framework providing all of humanity with a roadmap to end extreme poverty, reduce inequality and protect the planet, over the course of 15 years. While it is certainly no short order, with the right technology, guidance and approach, at viaGood, we believe this vision is achievable.

At the UN Headquarters in New York, 2015, the Agenda was signed universally by all 193 UN Member States. They unanimously agreed to the achievement the following 17 Goals by 2030:

2. Zero hunger
3. Good health and well-being
4. Quality education
5. Gender equality
6. Clean water and sanitation
7. Affordable and clean energy
8. Decent work and economic growth
9. Industry, innovation and infrastructure
10. Reduced inequality
11. Sustainable cities and communities
12. Responsible consumption and production
13. Climate action
14. Life below water
15. Life on land
16. Peace, justice and strong institutions
17. Partnership for the Goals

The 17 Goals and 169 sub-targets exist so that people, animals and the planet can thrive, both for those alive today and for generations to come. Without action from every level of international society - from individuals, communities and civil society, to international organizations, Government and the private sector - this achievable future becomes impossible. Now, in 2022, we have just 8 years left to make them a reality.
